Reproduction of a model
Vacuum Casting is a Rapid Prototyping technology needing a model which is generally printed by Stereolithography to get a detailled part, or which one obtains with a already existing part.
Creation of Vacuum Casting mould
A silicon mould is then formed around this part and once this mould hardened, the part will be taken out. It remains just to fill the interior of the mould with resin with the help of a Vacuum Casting machine, cook resin, open the mould and to take out the finished part.
The Vacuum Casting manufacturing process allows to generate quickly very detailled parts in small numbers (20 to 25 per mould). Furthermore, Vacuum Casting allows to print in various materials: alimentary resins, fireproof resins, resins suitable for electric usages, glass fiber loaded resins, transparent resins … Their hardness (shore) can be personalised according to the client and his needs.
Small series with an important level of detail
Vacuum Casting is used for prototypes and for small series with numerous details and/or important mechanical constraints.
